Gamuda (Australia) Pty Ltd requested a solution for low hanging power lines on their worksite where they’re doing construction work on all Sydney Metro sites. On-site staff and drivers were at risk as large trucks had the potential to take out the power lines on entrance and exit of the site. We designed a custom Solar Height Clearance Bar system which utilizes P.I.R through beams set at the maximum clearance height, which uses a wireless signal to set off visual alerts in multiple locations when the beam is broken by vehicles. These visual alerts notify the driver and surrounding staff that the vehicle is oversized and should not to proceed. The Solar Height Clearance Bar system was installed on custom dual arm lighting columns, manufactured by Solar Lighting Designs.
